This week is the second week I have been in digital storytelling, which focused a lot on the design aspect of the digital storytelling. The first thing I did was watch two Ted talks of designers who were very different who both talked about not being afraid to step out of your comfort zone, as well as not being afraid to fail. The Ted Talks helped me when it came to my Canva creations, which I had never done before. The Canva creations were fun to do, and I especially enjoyed making the Youtube thumbnail one because I could see myself using this technique one day.
The next big assignment for the first part of this week was the Design Blitz. Similarly to the Photo Blitz, I had to take pictures of different aspects of our every day life. The main difference and the reason I enjoyed the Design Blitz more is because there was no time limit on the project. The Photo Blitz was a fifteen-minute project which wasn’t necessarily rushed but made it more difficult to capture the pictures I wanted.
The final thing that I completed in the first part of this week was the question of the week. This week’s question was extremely interesting: what if one thing in our history happened in a different way. There were many prompts, but I chose to write about what would have happened if the South had won the Civil War. I found this to be the most interesting topic because it would make the world we live in today so much different.
