Stories have been told since people began speaking, and telling others about what had happened to them. Stories evolve with people overtime along with the ways that they have been told. Since stories were first created they have evolved to all different kinds of genres, as well as different ways of telling the same story.
When most people think of a story their first thought is a book or something that is physically written down and retold overtime to remember an event that occurred, or a pass along a message that needs to be told. When a story is being told in this way my personal favorite genre of storytelling is a history, or factual story. If I am hearing about something that occurred in the past I want it to be the most accurate story possible, and that’s exactly what historical stories are. Other kinds of stories can be accurate as well, but you know with a historical story that the evidence you are getting is accurate.
The other main kind of storytelling that people think of is the point of telling a story is as a source of entertainment for the listeners/viewers. When I am listening, or watching a story for pure entertainment, then my favorite kind of story is a story of action, and adventure. These stories keep you on the edge of your seat and I personally believe are the most entertaining genre of stories.
