The second part of the week led to more challenges for me than the beginning of the week did. This week we had a lot more assignments that mainly dealt with photography. Photography is a hobby or activity that I have always wanted to get into, but never really found the time. I took a photography class my freshman year of high school, but since then I haven’t been able to get into it.
The second part of this week included a Photoblitz, a project where we had fifteen minutes to take pictures of the same area. While creating my Photoblitz I tried to keep in mind the tips and tricks that I read in “TEN: Ten Ways to Improve Your Craft. None of Them Involve Buying Gear” by Alan Levine, however I found that to be more difficult than I had initially expected. I assume for someone who is a regular photographer these tips would be a lot more helpful and come more naturally than to someone like myself.
After the Photoblitz was finished I thought it would be best to complete the blog posts for all of the things I created in the second half of the week. I enjoy writing the blog posts for this class, especially the one titled My Favorite Picture I’ve Ever Taken. These blog posts allow me to analyze my work and learn from it. In this blog post I do pretty much what the title states but go in depth on how and why a picture of my cousins Jimmy and Joey on the beach is my favorite picture I’ve ever taken.
The final thing that I did for the second half of this week was my daily creates that I made for this week. The first one was of what kind of star I would be, and the second one was mentioned above.
If I could go back and do anything differently for the second part of this week, I would plan my assignments out ahead of time to ensure that I have a better understanding on what was needed to be done for the week so that I make sure I am turning in everything that I need to.
